Health and Safety

The Parishes of Our Lady of Lourdes, Carnforth, St Mary of the Angels, Bolton-le-Sands and St Mary, Yealand strive to take all matters of Health & Safety very seriously indeed.

Consequently, it is our practice to secure so far as is reasonably practical, the health, safety, and welfare of all who work in our parishes either in a paid or voluntary capacity and to protect members of our congregation, visitors and others who may be affected by our activities.

Working closely with the overall coordination of the Bishop and Trustees of the Diocese of Lancaster and the Diocesan Health & Safety Policy within the framework provided by SafetyToolbox model, we are hopeful that these arrangements will ensure continuity of all current parish activities through the application of a sensible and practical approach to any risks involved.

Finally, all those who undertake work for the Diocese and our parishes are expected to act responsibly (i.e. no lone-working or working beyond one’s own capacity) to prevent injury or work-related ill-health to themselves and others. They are required to co-operate with the Parish Priest in all matters relating to health and safety and to work within any oral or written mandates given throughout all of our buildings and sites.

Our Parishes each have a Health and Safety Representative, as follows:

 ▪ For Carnforth: Annette Howlings

 ▪ For Bolton-le-Sands: Les Robinson

 ▪ For Yealand: John Calnan
